25 08 10: Filmbar 70 present The Strange Vice of Mrs Wardh
8pm The Strange Vice of Mrs. Wardh
aka - Next! / The Blade of the Ripper...!
After last month's excellent screening of The Stabilizer complete with an exclusive prerecorded interview with the star Peter O'Brian and all the usual music, trailers and ads, Filmbar 70 are back with another cracker...
Filmbar70 gets all hot and bothered this month with an evening dedicated to the Queen of Giallo, the exquisite Edwige Fenech! We’ll be screening ‘The Strange Vice of Mrs. Wardh’, one of the most influential and respected exponents of Giallo cinema and the film that provided Edwige with her most compelling role.
Showcasing the breathtaking beauty and disarming vulnerability of this extraordinary actress, ‘Strange Vice’ is a delicious cocktail of sex, death and style which lets rip with an outrageous welter of deviant desires, sadistic shocks, and wondrous wallpaper.
Julie Wardh is a disillusioned diplomats wife with a dark past. As a series of brutal murders rock Vienna, Julie becomes to believe that the one of the men in her life may be involved. Could it be her safe but staid husband, the suave suitor who offers her the chance to escape her emotional malaise, or the brutal ex-lover who represents her self-destructive urges? As murder moves closer to home, Julie is taken to the brink of sanity and beyond...
Enriched with the haunting melodies of Nora Orlandi and with a master of Italian exploitation, Sergio Martino, at the helm, ‘Strange Vice’ is a veritable who’s who of Giallo that co-stars the original gorgeous George (Mr. Hilton to you) and the poster boy of cruelty, Ivan Rassimov.
With all new featurettes on the dark world of the Giallo, the evening promises to slink and kink like no other. So, don those black leather gloves and join us for a night of shocking, sexy and super stylish shenanigans.
